Sanjo Sadan, the offshoot of Navachaithanya was started with a special mission of treating addicts. It was born out of the conviction that addiction is a growing chronic disease which needs special treatment and Rehabilitation. Addicts from all walk of life and all strata of society; irrespective of caste or religion invariably reach this centre for treatment.
It started on 10th September 1994 at Anandapuram. In these years, we have rendered our mission to more than 9243 persons and to their families. Most of the patients are motivated to this center by our ex-addicts and also from the Navachaithanya De- addiction camps being conducted every month by the drug awareness counseling centre at Aloor.

Drug addiction is a chronic, often relapsing disease that causes compulsive drug seeking and use, despite harmful consequences to the drug addict and those around them. Drug addiction is a disease because the abuse of drugs leads to changes in the structure and function of individual’s life. .
Although it is true that for most people the initial decision to take drugs is voluntary, over time the changes in the daily life caused by repeated drug abuse can impair a person's self-control and ability to make sound decisions, and at the same time create an intense impulse to take drugs.
